Botox Cosmetic, or botulinum toxin type A, is a protein commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, and forehead to smooth crow’s feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. A Botox brow lift targets raising the outside corner of the eyebrow to replace this part of the face to its proper position. These injections block nerve impulses, weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the face a rejuvenated look. Botox may also be useful for excessive sweating.

Restylane Perlane is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. These are clear gels composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. The amount of cross linking is what determines which of these products is used in the different areas of the face. These synthetic acids carrylittle risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), the tear trough beneath the eye, and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane Perlane remains in your skin for six, or more, months.

Radiesse is an injectable implant material that can fill the lines around the face, especially the laugh lines. Unlike bovine collagen, no allergy testing is required. Best of all, Radiesse lasts years as opposed to months. Although slightly more costly than Collagen, in the long term, less money is actually spent. Other applications for Radiesse include filling out depressions and scars on the face. The correction achieved is both predictable and long lasting.

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look.

Also called micro-lipoinjection or autologous fat transfer, fat injection involves the removal and relocation of the patient’s own body fat to plump up an area. Most commonly this procedure is combined with face-lifting and other facial rejuvenation procedures to further replace what has been lost over the years. Fat is removed through liposuction, often from the abdomen, buttocks or thighs. It is then processed and injected into the area being treated.
The procedure is also commonly performed as an isolated lunch time procedure for lip augmentation as well as laugh line reduction. Because the transplanted fat comes from the patient, it does not carry a risk of allergic reaction. Other advantages include a short recovery time, long-lasting results and effectiveness on any skin type.
