BOTOX® Cosmetic, or botulinum toxin type A, is a popular non-surgical injection which can reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles, including crow's feet, frown lines, worry lines and lines on the neck. BOTOX®may also be used as a non-surgical brow lift for raising the outside corners of the eyebrows and restoring this area of the face to its proper position.
BOTOX® works by blocking the nerve impulses to the muscles responsible for wrinkles, thus relaxing the wrinkles and providing a more rejuvenated facial appearance. BOTOX® is also an effective treatment for excessive sweating. Dr. Roland performs wrinkle treatment injections in his Manhattan office, and the procedure takes about ten minutes or so to complete. A very fine needle is used to administer several tiny injections directly into the targeted muscles.
There is little downtime or recovery associated with BOTOX® treatment and patients are able to immediately return to their normal routine. The effect can be seen within five to seven days and will last for up to four months. Patients may experience some minor, temporary redness or swelling at the injection site which tends to fade quickly.BOTOX® Cosmetic, or botulinum toxin type A, can improve the appearance of certain facial wrinkles such as frown lines, crow's feet, worry lines and lines on the neck.
