New York Radiesse®

Radiesse® is an injectable implant material that may be used for facial shaping and contouring to counteract the signs of aging. Radiesse® can improve a variety of lines around the face, especially laugh lines, and it can fill in depressions and scars. Radiesse® provides predictable, long-lasting results which, unlike other fillers, remain for years as opposed to months. Radiesse® is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and requires no allergy testing.

Dr. Roland performs Radiesse® treatments in his Manhattan office. Depending on the treatment area, the procedure can take as little as fifteen minutes up to forty minutes to complete. A local or topical anesthetic may first be administered for comfort, then Dr. Roland will use a very fine needle to inject the Radiesse® beneath the skin.

As with other injectable treatments, some mild swelling or redness may result at the injection site, but these generally fade quickly. There is no downtime associated with Radiesse® treatment and work and other normal activities can be resumed immediately. Patients will notice an initial plumping of the skin after treatment which is followed by extended correction as new collagen regenerates. Results will vary but generally last one to two years.
