New York Injectable Filler Restylane®

Restylane® is a clear gel injectable filler designed to restore volume to smooth wrinkles, shape facial contours and sculpt the lips. Restylane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance which is found naturally throughout the body, and carries little risk of allergic reaction. Restylane® is unique in that it binds to water once injected, allowing results to remain for six or more months.

While many areas of the face can be treated with Restylane®, the most common areas include the following:

  • Nasolabial folds, or the folds running from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth
  • Glabellar lines, or lines between the eyebrows
  • Tear troughs, located beneath the eyes

Dr. Roland performs Restylane® injections in his Manhattan office. Treatment takes just fifteen to thirty minutes to complete and may be performed with a numbing agent or topical or local anesthetic. Dr. Roland uses a very fine needle to inject the Restylane® gel in very small amounts into the skin. There is little discomfort and patients see immediate results.

There is little downtime or recovery associated with Restylane® treatment and patients are able to immediately resume their normal routine and work. Some minor swelling or redness may develop at the injection sites, but these tend to fade quickly. Though results will vary from patient to patient, Restylane® lasts an average of six months.
